Witches Shoes and Moon Earrings

Got the way cool Cresent Moon stones in a Shop up in Lake Placid (beadery)-

I paired them with a silver stone and twirled black wire on a sterling silver earring---

The witches shoes.... and crystals... complete my mood...

Halloween Butterflies

I love earrings...

I've made so many over time...and
I've worn so many over time.

This pair has yellow and orange glass beads with a black wire and an interested orangey/black striped natural stone set of butterflies!

The photo is from South Africa and the hat is part of this year's Halloween costume...

ART Don't Think...Just Paint

It isn't easy, you know. It does take an incredible amount of discipline, you don't just paint just when you feel like it or you're not going to build up much of a body of work. Inspiration comes to you while you're aomtomg rather than before....For me the discipline of painting and the discipline of prayer are identical, in that I have to let myself be got out of the way because that's not a do-it-yourself activity, and listen....When you paint, don't think, just paint. You think before, you think after, you don't think during. When I'm praying, when I'm truly praying, I'm not thinking, I'm not speaking, I'm shutting up, so perhaps if God has something to say I can hear it. So painting too is an art of listening, listening to what has to be said.

LAMP OF FAITH

Where faith is there is courage, there is fortitude, there is steadfastness and strength... Faith bestows that sublime courage that rises superior to the troubles and disappointments of life, that acknowledges no defeat except as a step to victory... that is strong to endure, patient to wait, and energetic to struggle... Light up, then, the lamp of faith in your heart... It will lead you safely through the mists of doubt and the black darkness of despair, along the narrow, thorny ways of sickness and sorrow, and over the treacherous places of temptation and uncertainty.
*This "Lamp of Faith' was designed and created from salvaged odds and ends...the shade is made of high fire Porcelain clay, cut randomly and placed over a slump mold and left to dry...I left it in its natural state and fired to harden...the lamp's base was treated with a chemical to give it a old look. ..teardrop dangles were handblown by a very talented glass blowing friend.

It's a shout out!

Each artist brings a unique perspective to the creation process...I'm very texture
oriented and I am a color junkie... I've never understood white walls or the concept of minimalism.... why have nothing???? What's peaceful about that??
For god's sake-- it's empty... We are alive to fill and be filled.... to create and destroy... but ?Empty?... I just don't get!

I create and I grow things... for me, art reaches down into my soul and I bring it from the inside of me to the surface and so it's a totally personal statement. It can be soft, it can be gentle, it can be disturbing, it can be gloriously woman. Just like me, just like all women.

I work with clay and I work with paint.... I've painted most everything! I also do fine silver jewelry, recycled art and mixed media.... Mostly, I do whatever it takes-- to bring the expression to life.

Art to me is life. The day after I die, is the day I won't be working on something.

This particular painting is about Women.
It's about us loving our child within and allow
the beauty of our childhood spirit flow and fill
us. It's about finding that flowing space of peace,
the one that is unique to each and every
woman.

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS WALL

The artist's world is limitless. It can be found anywhere, far from where he lives or a few feet away. It is always on his doorstep. O, Lucky me, I've found my place in the Sun only a few feet away, outside my back door. A place where I can go, to find or lose myself...By creating artful pieces I can find what I am seeking, a full requital of my striving pain..Art can do much, but the maxims must sure, a weak or wounded brain admits no cure..:-)) especially in a case of severe Love-sickness. . And when I am going Coo- Coo and I can't seem to focus, some of my best work had been borned.... Creating is much like insanity... NO, it is total insanity! Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. See what I mean? :-)) Over and over again". To be an Artist is a way, reason and an excuse to be exempt from society. We are expected to do and say crazy things...I will not lie to you and tell you that I do or say crazy things on purpose...because, No I do not...I am only saying here that my Life and the way that I am can be justified and defined as a perfectly rational adjustment to an insane world...so what? What is it to you? :-)) I enjoy doing and saying whatever I feel like at the moment. I have that right! So do you even if you aren't creative. Also, it is remarkable how similar the pattern of love (of Art) is to the pattern of insanity. The pleasures of love (in this case Paint-ual Intercourse) are pains that become desirable, where sweetness and torment blend, and so love of Art is voluntary insanity, infernal paradise, and celestial hell -- in short, harmony of opposite yearnings, sorrowful laughter, a soft sparkling diamond...
When creating Art, I am joyous. unpredictability is the life of my Creativity... I find delight in events not forecasted, happenings without explanation, retrospective..I am often spontantious, whether I am standing still or fleeing like a bat from out of the sky...you may find me and my work as spiritual, soulfu, sad, happy, barbaric, comical or maybe even stupid....however you may find it, you will never find it Dead! I love to create, I am an Artist! I am here to live Out Loud.. I feel I am free- spirited enough to create freely upon my imagination souly. imagination is more important than knowledge, for knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world. My God, what would the World be like without Imagaination. What would the World be like without Art!? It is by our recreation of the world that we are enabled to tell and show others through our artwork what it is we are feeling and how we see the World.
